Anton Paar ConsumerTec GmbH, part of the Anton Paar Group, is introducing Tony, a standalone brand for its portfolio of smart measurement devices for the consumer market. The new brand is built on Anton Paar’s measurement expertise as the global leader in density and concentration measurement. Previously marketed under the name Anton Paar, the devices combine established measurement technologies in compact, software-enabled handheld solutions.

 
While Anton Paar has long been associated with high-precision measurement technology for laboratories, industry, and research, Tony is designed specifically for users outside the traditional B2B environment. With the new brand, Anton Paar ConsumerTec is creating a dedicated identity for hobby users, small businesses, and prosumers. The branding strategy reflects the different needs and communication approaches required for industrial and consumer audiences and is intended to support the continued growth of the company’s consumer business.

Tony brings together existing products such as EasyDens, SmartRef, and pH2Go, as well as future developments, under a single brand. The devices enable the measurement of analytical parameters including density, concentration, alcohol content, and pH, making established measurement technologies accessible to new user groups. The products are built on Anton Paar’s long-standing expertise in instrument development. Anton Paar ConsumerTec’s goal is to transfer proven measurement principles from laboratory and industrial environments into compact, user-friendly devices, enabling new applications and user groups while maintaining the technological foundation of the Anton Paar Group.

A key focus is the integration of hardware and software. The devices connect via Bluetooth® Low Energy to mobile applications for iOS and Android and can be integrated into cloud-based workflows. Measurement data can be digitally documented, analyzed, and exported, supporting streamlined data management and improved accessibility of results.

Building on more than 100 years of measurement expertise of Anton Paar, the company develops and markets measurement devices for the B2C market, particularly for ambitious homebrewers and winemakers. The company’s mission is to translate highly precise laboratory technology into user-friendly, smart handheld devices, making professional analytics accessible for at-home use.
As a “startup within a corporate environment,” the team has grown from three to more than 25 employees since the company’s founding in 2021 and continues to drive product innovation.
