On April 24, 2026, more than 2,500 stations across Austria will offer live experiments, stage shows, behind-the-scenes tours, workshops, and much more. Anton Paar Group will also be taking part in the event. Visitors will experience how research and precision shape products used in everyday life — for all ages. Measurement technology comes to life as guests can explore and try out our measurement solutions at various interactive stations.

 
From a One-Man Metal Workshop to a Global Market Leader
The story of Anton Paar began over 100 years ago, when its founder of the same name opened a small metal workshop. At the time, no one could have imagined that this one-man operation in Graz would grow into a global company with more than 4,600 employees today.
Today, our subsidiary Anton Paar GmbH is a global market leader in the fields of density and concentration measurement, rheometry, and CO₂ measurement. Many of the world’s leading companies — not only in the beer, wine, and soft drink industries, but also in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, as well as food and and electronic manufacturing — rely on Anton Paar’s technical expertise and instruments.

What do density and concentration measurements have to do with everyday products? In our workshop, you can try it out for yourself and gain a deeper understanding. It’s an opportunity to discover the invisible science that plays a role in many aspects of our lives — whether it’s quality control for batteries, testing fuels for Formula 1 race cars, or analyzing your shampoo at home.

 
From Soccer Action to Craft Beer
However, Anton Paar is not only active in the lab: The Anton Paar Group now operates across a wide range of business areas. At the event Lange Nacht der Forschung, you can discover just how versatile measurement technology can be. In the company’s own demonstration brewery, the “best-measured craft beer in the world” is brewed, at the skills.lab Cube, soccer skills are tested and trained. With smart handheld measuring devices and a corresponding app, parameters such as sugar or salt content can be analyzed in beverages or aquariums.

 
Innovative Energy Concept
At the technology center opened in 2023, a specialized energy concept is used: a system combining ice storage, solar absorbers, photovoltaic systems, and heat pumps enables efficient heating and cooling. This allows for savings of more than 50 percent in primary energy consumption. You can see how it works firsthand during your visit to our headquarters.
